1. PLEASE NOTE: There are inherent dangers associated with plantations such as harvesting operations, wild animals, unexpected wild fires and/or adverse weather conditions. All visitors to MTO’s property, including the permit holder, acknowledge that they accept the presence of the aforesaid inherent risks and the like thereof and agrees that MTO shall not be liable for any loss or damage any visitor, may sustain as a result of them being present on MTO property.
2. Access is restricted between sunrise and sunset on the date(s) of permit validity, unless authorized for camping, overnight hiking or as specified under special conditions in this permit.
3. Notice boards and symbol signs on MTO property must be obeyed.
4. MTO property or parts of MTO Property may be closed to public access for specific periods.
5. The lighting of fires is prohibited, except in places specifically provided for this purpose. PLEASE NOTE: The lighting of fires in designated fire-places may be prohibited for specified periods. Fires may not be left unattended and must be extinguished after use.
6. No litter, refuse or empty containers shall be discarded on MTO property. Please make use of the refuse containers specifically provided for this purpose.
7. No person may damage, remove or interfere with any beacon, boundary marker, fence, notice board or other structure on MTO property.
8. No person may interfere with forestry or management activities on MTO property, and no unauthorized access is allowed to any area where personnel or equipment are at work.
9. All wildlife and vegetation is protected and may not be removed from MTO property.
10. Plants, trees, rocks or works on MTO property may not be removed, damaged by carving, scratching or marking in any way.
11. The feeding of wildlife is prohibited.
12. No hunting is allowed on MTO property.
13. Dogs and other pets are not permitted on MTO property unless specifically authorized. Horse riding is permitted only on specific, demarcated horse trails.
14. Swimming and fishing are only allowed in areas designated for that purpose.
15. The unauthorized launching or landing of hang-gliders and para-gliders is prohibited on MTO property unless this takes place in areas specifically designated for this purpose.
16. Smoking is not permitted inside any plantation or fynbos area and shall only be allowed on management roads. PLEASE NOTE: All tobacco products must be completely extinguished and permit holders shall not dispose of their tobacco products on MTO property.
17. Visitors, including the permit holder, shall be liable for any damage caused to MTO property as a result of any act or omissions on their /his/her part.
18. Each visitor, including the permit holder, shall indemnify MTO or any of it’s employees, shareholders, subsidiaries and/or independent contractors and shall keep them indemnified against all damage, costs (including legal costs), losses and claims for injuries, or loss of life which he or she may sustain or which may arise out of or as a consequence of he or she being present on MTO property.
19. Each visitor, including the permit holder, confirms that any or all minors that enters the MTO property with him or her, do so entirely at his or her risk and he or she indemnifies, holds harmless and absolves MTO, or any of it’s employees, shareholders, subsidiaries and/or independent contractors from any damage, costs (including legal costs), losses and claims for injuries, or loss of life which may arise out of the said minor/s being present on MTO property.
20. Special conditions, licenses or fees may be applicable to specific activities, places, times and events.
21. This permit must be produced and shown to any authorized person on request.
